“We are proud to support the Sikh Helpline year after year. Their work saves lives quietly and selflessly, often behind closed doors where no one else can reach. The gurdwara management will continue to stand with the Sikh Helpline to ensure this essential service is here as long as it is needed.”

GURDWARA GURU HAR RAI SAHIB PRESIDENT
West Bromwich, 3rd August 2025 – The sound of cheering and heartfelt applause filled the air as 22 determined cyclists completed their 350-mile ride from Scotland to West Bromwich, raising vital funds for the Sikh Helpline — a free, confidential service offering support to those in crisis across the UK. The riders arrived at Gurdwara Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji on Saturday afternoon, where they were welcomed by the local Mayor, gurdwara representatives, community leaders and supporters who had gathered to celebrate this monumental achievement. The 5-day journey tested the endurance of every participant, but the riders’ spirits remained unshaken. Along the way, they inspired countless people to donate, share the cause, and understand the urgent need for the Sikh Helpline’s services — from mental health support and domestic abuse assistance to guidance on substance misuse and hate crime.
WHY IT MATTERS
The Sikh Helpline runs entirely on the generosity of the public. From mental health struggles and bullying to domestic abuse and substance misuse, the calls we receive are real, urgent, and growing — often from those who have no one else to turn to. Many of our riders, supporters, and donors are people who have directly benefited from the Sikh Helpline’s services. This ride is their way of giving back — and now we invite you to do the same.
Together, let’s ensure that no cry for help ever goes unheard. This Service is for every soul in need — and every heart willing to help.

“We are calling on the community to continue spreading awareness about our services to those who may benefit. Whether through volunteering, participating in fundraising events, or simply sharing information about the helpline, your involvement can make a real difference. We also encourage everyone to become active listeners within their own circles. Often, a few kind words or a listening ear can uplift someone from a dark place.” GIANI SUKHA SINGH (SIKH HELPLINE FOUNDER)
“To raise awareness and funds, I began organising annual cycling events. What started small has grown year after year, uniting people in purpose, building community spirit, and helping break stigmas around mental health. Every mile we ride supports Sikh Helpline’s lifesaving work—offering hope and guidance to those who feel they have nowhere else to turn. Together, we are riding towards change.”

THROUGH OUR RIDERS WORDS
“I chose the Sikh Helpline after seeing its great works. They have done a lot of good work in improving people’s lives. I consider myself very proud to have contributed to it I hope it continues to grow and help people”
“It was difficult as an event, but what other people go through is tougher. It’s good to feel the pain so you can try and understand what other people are experiencing.”
“This ride will change you; subtly for most but profoundly for some. It was for a great cause, I physically and mentally pushed myself but was all in the spirit of helping others.”
“I chose to support the Sikh Helpline because I’ve seen first-hand the devastating impact alcohol abuse can have—not just on individuals, but on entire families. It’s a struggle that often goes unseen and unspoken in our communities. The Helpline offers a lifeline to those suffering in silence, providing support without judgment. By helping raise funds, I hope to ensure that more people can access the help they need to reclaim their lives and dignity.”
